Last weekend Isaac, the Bodenettes and I went to Bass Lake for a family reunion with my mom’s extended family. The entire weekend was awesome.
On our way up to Bass Lake, we took a slight detour and introduced the girls to the Yosemite Valley. I’m telling you, the best kinds of magic surround that valley. It never gets old. The 4am wake-up call and 6 hour drive were more than worth it.
From Yosemite, we drove to Bass Lake and made it in time for dinner Thursday night. We spent the weekend boating, swimming, paddle boarding, wake boarding, laughing, eating and drinking. Oh, and we did some running!
One of my highlights was our Family Run on Saturday morning. There were 11 of us, counting the dogs, of course. We ran at a very comfortable pace and chose the route as we went, weaving along the windy, lakeside roads. No one was out to set a pace or run any distance. Instead, we were there for the company.
And that’s what I love about Family. The company.
